Kepakaran Fiqih di Era Modern; Studi Sanad Fiqh Syaikh Mahfudz Al-Tarmasi

Abstract

This article discusses fiqh expertise in the modern era, focusing on the study of the fiqh sanad of Sheikh Mahfudz Al-Tarmasi, an influential Nusantara scholar. The method used is a literary study, with the main source being the book “Kifayatul Mustafid limaa 'ala minal asanid,” which documents his chain of knowledge and his relationship with previous scholars. The discussion highlights the importance of sanad as a guarantee of authority and the validity of knowledge, as well as its role in preserving the authenticity of Islamic teachings amid the rapid flow of information. The findings indicate that sanad not only functions as a filter to ensure the accuracy of knowledge but also as a connector that sustains the scientific tradition, thereby helping Muslims avoid deviant interpretations and counter extremism. This research is expected to provide new insights into the relevance of sanad in the context of fiqh scholarship in the modern era.
